The Palm Springs look
Modernism, Planted
Palm Springs speaks its own design language: low, flat rooflines, breeze block screens, pools the colour of the sky and agave used like sculpture. A good yard here speaks it fluently, without turning the house into a museum piece.
That is where most of our Palm Springs work starts. Clean concrete and large-format porcelain, geometric layouts, a fire feature for cool desert nights, and desert planting chosen for its silhouette as much as its thirst.
- Breeze block screens and walls
- Pools and spas with clean, crisp coping
- Sculptural agave, yucca and barrel cactus in crushed rock
- Fire bowls and fire pits for evenings outside

Palm Springs · Modern Renovation
Bliss Way
Inspired by the “Palm Springs Modern” aesthetic: a neutral palette of whites and greys in the hardscape, an existing pool and spa enhanced with a raised bond beam and mitered-edge stone coping, and breeze block walls that define distinct rooms within the yard.
- Hardscape: 24″×48″ porcelain pavers, sand-finish concrete
- Living: BBQ island, Lumacast fire pit, Alumawood shade structure
- Planting: Golden barrel, agave, totem pole cactus, date palm
- Lighting: String lights, uplighting, integrated panel lighting

Palm Springs · Mid-century modern backyard
Calle Rolph
A residential backyard transformed into a modern desert oasis: a clean, geometric layout of porcelain pavers and acid-wash concrete, the existing curved pool and spa refreshed with acid-washed coping, and a dedicated seating area around a large Corten steel fire bowl.
- Hardscape: Porcelain pavers, acid-wash concrete
- Pool & spa: Existing curved pool and spa, acid-washed concrete coping
- Living: Corten steel fire bowl, outdoor shower screened by breeze block
- Planting: Yucca rostrata, Madagascar palms, an olive tree

Good questions
Palm Springs, Answered
Do you work on mid-century homes?
Yes. Calle Rolph and Palm Canyon are both mid-century modern backyards in Palm Springs, and Bliss Way was designed around the “Palm Springs Modern” look.
Front yard, backyard or both?
Both. We build for private homes only: backyards, front yards, pools and patios.
Can I see the design before you build it?
Yes. 3D renderings are an optional step on top of the landscape plan: we can show the design from any angle, with the finish materials, the planting and the sunlight, and change it on screen first.
How does it start?
With a first phone call about your project, then a site visit at your property to agree a clear scope of work. Approximate budget and timing are discussed on site.
